Using sound

I want to use sounds of planes and birds throughout the play to corrilate with my theme of chemtrails. I feel it's a nice contrast to the whirlwind world that the characters are living, as nature is pure and soft and their lives are hard.

I will do this by writing in the stage directions.

Location ideas

Seeing locations visually really helps me imagine and visualise the world that the characters are living in and the world i have to bring to stage. 

Written scenes

Writing out scenes and experimenting with ideas has really helped me Lucy and Scarlet as characters, giving them certain traits and sayings. For example Scarlet swears a lot and always says fuck it and Lucy often talks politically and is shut down by Scarlet and always drinks mango juice.

Pancake tits scene

From this story i felt inspired to write a scene where Scarlet makes a comment on Lucy's boob size. i felt like this is such a simply yet harmful way to offend someone and can easily happened amongst teenagers.

Sticky Story board

In my workshop i created a sticky story board in which everyone could write down an experience in which they had been made to do something they didn't want to or had been manipulated. I wanted them to write down how it made them feel and a possible quote they can remember.

I found this extremely useful as i was looking for situations in which Scarlet could papillate my other character Lucy.

This gave me an idea to write a scene where scarlet makes Lucy send out a rumour or pictures to people and lucy feels guilty. 















This helped me see how Scarlet could make a comment on Lucy's clothes and pressure her to wear certain things.

 This comment made me feel sad as sometimes it's your friends who can make comments that make you feel self conscious. I very much felt like this is something my character scarlet would do. This has also inspired another scene.

This is an extreme and was interesting to see how someone that i know, from my class had to go through this. I realised pressured violence amongst friends could be more common then i realised. This has made me think about how scarlet could potently make Lucy do something physically violent towards someone.

I can imagine this as the breaking point for Lucy.
